New MG2RF

Hi Guys,

Just got my new MG2RF (replacing the Sako TriAce I used to shoot 25m Standard/RF).

I must say it was a pleasure to shoot it, 50 rounds and thanks god not a single malfunction (hope to keep this rate ;)

One thing I found interesting is that the trigger feels a little different in live opposed to dry fire (safety on).

During some of my 10sec series I failed to renew the trigger... and some shots went as 8's on Nine O'Clock due to trigger jerks.

I guess it will take me some time to get use to the new trigger and I'm not worried about it.

As far as maintenance, what will be the proper handling of the gun ? Do you suggest removing the barrel & the top for cleaning every 1000 rounds or more frequent ? (With the Sako I was used to clean the barrel & chamber every parctice)

Thanks,
Avi

Cleaning the MG 2

The MG 2 is really a very open design, I just clean the action with Q-tips and Break Free every 1000 rounds or so. I use a bore snake to clean the bore. A thorough cleaning requiring barrel removal is only necessary if you are experienceing problems with malfunctions.

I find with mine that the firing-pin gets so much junk built up in it that I start getting light hits. I know it depends on what ammo is being used as some are worse than others, but ........
