walther LG300 front sight question

I bought I new LG300 in 2010. Came with those glass type front inserts and lockscrew. Dont like those glass inserts, so I use the normal one's, like these:
http://www.schuetzenwelt.de/shop/2/waff ... ringkorne/
However, the horizontal line of the inserts isnt level?! It ís level on the insert, but once fitted it's off. Is this cause I need another type of insert?? Or another lockscrew? Or..

don't quite know how you got them to fit in the walther/centra sight as the tabs on the outside fit into groves on the sight they were designed for, if it's the same as the link they are Anschutz ones and will only fit that type

Yana,

As noted by Anschutz there is probably an incompatibility between the insert you are using and the the front sight tunnel on the air rifle. Specifically the tabs or ears on the insert.

The metal inserts are the only ones you will encounter with those ears sticking out and in general they work together with the front sight tunnel so the supporting bars are always horizontal. This does not mean that you cannot force parts from two different manufacturers to go together with functional but non-optimal results.

I can think of two options: Cut or file the ears off your present insert then orient the crossbars to whereever you like as you tighten the clamping screw. (the budget friendly option) Get a front sight tunnel such as the Centra that has the little "whiskers" that can be oriented however you like and use those and the clear insert. Two parts there but you will have crossbars and the necessary aperature. (clearly solution #2 is the budget unfriendly option)

Or will an Ans front sight fit the walther rail? That would be an easy fix since he likes them better anyway.

Weird thing is, the tunnel dóes have inserts to fit ears!
So its perfectly fine to fit. Its just not level..
Lóóks like I need inserts with the ears off center.
According to the link in my 1st post, both ansch and walther use the same steel inserts, M18.

Don't really understand what the problem is, the standard LG300 which you have (from previous posts), has a standard Walther tunnel that accepts standard Anschutz elements, which are horizontal when fitted correctly

Perhaps you have them put in reverse,i know this might seem obvious but the ears are meant to go in one way, they should be stamped on one of the ears for example 3.4.you should put them in so that they are able to be read,in other words the 3.4 should be facing you and right side up.the ears are not equally cut so one side is higher or lower than the other,if not inserted correctly they will appear off center.Pardon me if you already know this.

I have just looked on my wife's LG300 which has a standard Walther 18 mm tunnel and she uses Anschutz elements. With out seriously cramming the element in with it clearly not fitting it is not possible to put it in wrong or missaligned. The ears of the element are different sizes and off centre so they can only fit one way up and with the outer of the element fitting the tunnel, the size marking is forward and not visible when in.
The only other thing I can think of is they may have given you the old style Anschutz elements which are different, I can't try one of them to see whether they can be missaligned as I threw all the old ones out to avoid a problem such as this!

Just had another look at the advert, the picture looks like the correct one for the Walther tunnel presuming its representative and they have not just used a generic picture. The other thing could be that your rifle has a Centra tunnel as Walther did fit those to some models, I don't have a Centra tunnel so can't say wether the Anschutz elements would fit.

This is what threw me, my LG300 has a walther/centra foresight which you can only fit the round plastic type, it has leveling bars but they are fitted to the tunnel sides and are adjustable. it's 18mm size,

Thnx all for the help, problem is sorted!
I looked at it from the other side, barrel end, and than suddenly, I saw the problem; the frontsight unit wasnt fitted well on its dovetail! Loosened it, clicked into place, solved..:)
How simple can it be!
