home trainer

Post by flea »

I am interested in getting one of the home training systems ( noptel, scatt, ect.) I am easy going on it but I have a few things I would like it to do.

1. I would like to be able to use it on my 1907 dry firing or my 2002ca live or dry fire.

2. I only have about 5m from the front of my firing line to my backstop.

3. I would like to be able to shoot a 60 shot match and have it score it, or something like that.

4. I have seen the colors and time on the new scatt and that was pretty cool to see.

5. I am a little computer illiterate so simple would be nice.

Any ideas from you guys would be awesome. I dont know much about these things. If I have the chance I might buy used, but not sure what to look for or stay away from.

Thank you

I had a RIKA and currently have a Noptel and our club has a Scatt so I have tried that too. I would rank them as follows:

1. Noptel- easy to use, no down range wires so live fire is very workable, generally works great. Can use out to 50m with the right reflector.

2. Scatt- good but distance is limited due to wires.

3. RIKA- I had this for a while and the results are very dependent on rifle cant- way more than in real life. I also found it very hard to use in prone.

SCATT is the simplest to use and due to its widespread use easier to get info on the net
