laser pistols for modern pentathalon

I have been advised that the organizers of this event are shifting over to laser pistols. What are the choices available?
If you scroll about halfway down the forum there's a very similar thread.
It seems to be a choice between a dedicated laser pistol, or the same workings packaged into a retro-fit unit for air pistols, neither of which work as well as they need to yet.
