I'm contemplating the purchase of an MG4 - to match the MG2 I already have - and have a question about it's empty case ejection pattern.

Does it politely and considerately eject cases into a neat little pile somewhere in close proximity to the shooter?

Or is it one of those guns which scatters empty cases into every corner of the range?

As much as I like the thought of the MG4, I don't really want to lose half my cases at every shoot or spend an inordinate amount of time searching for empties.....

Not in the proximity, no. My MG4 catapults the cases straight out to the right - so if you happen to have the right-most lane, and there is a net, you're ok ;-) At least they don't end up 5m out front, as with some other guns...
