How has your grouping evolved?
From all over, to the black, to the 8, to the nine...
Or has it gone from inside the black to the nine in one stage.
Trying to read the finale of the book, it is a long book.

Starting point depends.
Personally I had a background from other shooting disciplines which gave me a head start without being a "natural". I guess most folks group inside the black pretty soon. Then comes improvement, but most of us will experience setbacks. About a year ago, things developed just fine after a season of regular AP shooting. Then it fell apart during the summer holidays..... Since then it's been ups and downs: I seem to be on the right track, but summer and outdoor activities is right round the corner.
Getting to a level where 7s and 8s are "not good" took less than a year.
The odd bad shot is still a problem :-(
It only takes a couple of these to spoil a match. Without them I would be doing just fine.....
Experience has shown me that after some years you will develop a more solid "platform" that prevents your form from disintergarting, and makes it easier to reestablish your old performance after a break. I think I may be getting to this point soon :-)
Top notch precision and competition form however, seems to require a high level of activity at the actual time. This means "sacrificing" a good deal of time, and may be a social problem......
My challenge is getting there without conflict: this means training smarter rather than more. Forum reading may help a little......
