Imo, not really. Advantages of laminated are limited.
Check the walther website:
the normal wood XT is a tad shorter, 1050 vs 1090mm.
Also, that stock is stepless adjustable in length, whereas the laminated is not.
Laminated is more expensive as well.
Máybe a tad weight difference, allthough total weight of both is 4.4k.
Its more wether you like its looks I guess..
I have a laminated sporterstock, which I find, is quite easily dented and less easily repaired.

If the weight is an issue, not to worry, as the XT has weights in the forarm that can be removed or moved to get a balance point that is correct for you.

the different stocks do change the feel and balance of the walthers to quite some degree.

i would try before you buy if you can.

i am very happy with the feel of my anatomic over an alutec stock, however i've had to add a lot of weight... that said, when I used a 2002 in ally i could never get the weight and balance where I wanted it.

Joe, is the weight system you mention what they mean on the walther site with: 'individueller Schwerpunkt bzw Gewichtsverteilung' ? (individual balance etc). If yes, than my LG300 has it too.
