How do you hold the air rifle grip?

Does anyone use a thumb up posture to hold the air rifle grip? I found my hand is less strained and fingers less tension when I hold my thumb up. But someone pointed to me that it is not a very good idea to have your thumb up. Any comment??

Thanks.

While you don't see many people using the thumb up style, due to thumb hole stocks and pistol type grips on the aluminum air rifle stocks.
There is IMHO nothing wrong with using it, if it suits your style and you feel more comfortable with it carry on. Colin

I always use thumb up if possible. Gives me better trigger control.

Thumbs up or thumbs down? Whitch ever you feel most comfortable with as long as the grip is uniform from shot to shot and the trigger finger [all of it that moves] does not touch anything but the same part of the trigger on every shot. And I am sure all of you already know about all of this. Good Shooting Bill Horton
