Can anyone help me with a bit of 1996 Olympic shooting research;

Who were the shooters on the French Olympic Shooting Team that competed in the 25m gallery match course?

Which teams won the 1996 Gold, Silver, Bronze in the 25m gallery match course?

Is there any way to research what brand pistols were used?

Regards,

M.S.

It might help if you could explain what the "25m gallery match course" is.

The only 25m events at the Atlanta Olympics were Rapid Fire and Sport Pistol/Ladies Match (now called 25m Pistol).

There are no team shooting events in the Olympics.

No French women shot 25m Sport pistol.

Franck Dumoulin shot 25m Rapid fire, scored 575 and placed 21st.

the questions bring up the problems with finding this information. Very few organisations post this information on the web other than for ccurrent competitions (even for the Olympics) and the ISSF and IOC sites only list the medallists
for the French team, perhaps an enquiry direct to Federation Francaise de Tir - mpassedat@fftir.org

Hi David,

I'm thinking the 25m sport pistol event. I presumed it was a rimfire event with a Slow-Timed-Rapid stages with 10 shots at each similar to a 300 gallery match. ... With some of the replies it may have only been Rapid Fire & Sport Pistol, I'm having difficulty finding anything on my google searches.

I read on one of the european message forums a fellow shooter stated that UNIQUE Firearms had Gold Titanium Nitride treated the slide on their model DES96-U in honor of the "French Gold Team" ... Not sure what that means, but my curiosity has the best of me and I'm digging to find out anything to back that up. .... So far; I've found no data.

Regards,

M.S.
