Does anyone have a good template for a smallbore shooting journal for young shooters? Looking to have to the younger (and older) shooters at our club start keeping a journal. Any ideas on a template that could be filled out quickly and easily?

I tend to keep it free - i.e. a blank book and get them to write down their observations and thoughts and how they performed. Doing so means they can also include other things they may feel important - just make sure they include your key items.

The CMP has a good basic Shooting Journal and you can probably get it free.

Being a shooter and an iPhone developer. I developed ShotMuse3 to be able to record just about anything I might want to record at the range.
Not all kids will have an iPhone but those who do may find it helpful and fun to use.
It will track and record weapons, ammo, strings, weather, target picture, scores, shot split times, location and more. It also has freeform notes for whatever else one might want to add or record.

Shotmuse, have you had problems with them not having availability of their notes, settings, etc when on the firing line? (rules allow no electronic devices).

I haven't but...
One thing I do is email myself the info out of the App and print a "hard copy". I then add it to a binder. I don't carry it around because it is a pain, but I suppose one could do the same and have a traditional notebook using the hard copies if they couldn't use an electronic device on the line.

They also have an advance version.

Lanny Bassham sells a very nice one. He might give you a good deal on several and for juniors??? They are $20 each at normal price. Not cheap. Very nice leather bound. Goes with what he teaches in his seminars.
