New to Bullseye Shooting .... just bought a SW Model 41 .22LR and would like a recommendation for a red Dot system for it ... Holgraph or Tube style ... I don't have much experience with either type, other than an EoTech on my AR15.
Thanks for your suggestions and shared experience.

I think most would agree ultradot is a very good choice.
1" tube single dot will do.
I have a matchdot that I love but I never use the large dot settings.
I can not justify the added $$
One of the real pluses of ultradot is the polarizer for outdoor use that comes with it.

What do you all recommend as a mouning rail for securing an UltraDot system to a S&W Model 41?
Thanks

I would strongly recommend one of the Clark 41 barrels for optic usage. They are made from S&W 41 barrel blanks but with a true match chamber and better than factory machining and finishing. They have grooves machined in to allow clamping the scope rings directly to the barrel without an added base. There is a pretty decent amount of weight shaved off to compensate for the weight of the scope. Also, the line of sight lies closer to the bore.
As an added bonus, the accuracy is a cut above a stock S&W barrel. Even better, I noticed a real improvement in reliability.

I see they now offer a 6.5" model in addition to the older 5.5"!

Weaver 62 base, Burris low Zee rings, 1" Ultradot either regular or 4-dot. I even recommend silver color Zee rings on the black dot tube - one more concentric circle.....
