Do you know this new company ?

They have taylor-made products like extension tube, hand-rest for standing shooting, headspace jauge, coaxiality jauge, sight testing device,...
No...but...

SOS looks like they have a couple of items worth studying but...
...many of you are aware that Eric Uptagrafft is on the verge of producing the ultimate gold medal gun. I have seen preliminary designs and prototypes of his new action and several peripheral pieces like riser block sets, a sleek tuner (based on the accuracy of benchrest guns), scope stands and attachments. He has his mind set on developing and testing his new actions in a variety of composite stocks that will undoubtedly push Olympic accuracy into a new era.
SOS is also located in Europe. Eric is here in the Unites States. We will have the finest quality competitive weapon - and it will be readily avialable here at home. Whether you are a benchrest shooter or have notions of making an Olympic Team, I would closely watch and listen for the day he puts his products into the marketplace. Personally, I plan to hold onto my trusty 1813, continue to shoot the barrel it has (or maybe use one more) until Eric brings his products online. Once he does, I'm building my shooting future around his new action. I've seen it close up - painfully - as he mangled me and everyone else at Fall Selections by shooting 2 consecutive 600s in the Mens Prone event - and it is awesome.

I do like a nice unbiased bit of writing (sorry that's sarcasm in case you hadn't spotted it). Last time I looked European guns were performing streets ahead of any other nations guns and as for US made (target) guns, they've never come close.
Perhaps Eric can make a good gun and perhaps it can be world class, but lets not pre-judge it just yet. Don't forget the guy is a cracking shot and that accounts for more than a little bit of what happens at the business end.
Will he be able to make a better gun than the likes of Bleiker, only time will tell. But they've had many more years experience at producing guns and world class medal winning guns at that, and that counts for a hell of a lot in my book.

I agree. Time will tell. Bleiker is the big boy on the block right now. It will interesting to see if things change. From what I've heard, Eric is the right person to bring something hot to the firing line. Nice to see someone from the US stepping up to the plate. Even as a benchrest shooter, I'm already interested. Brad
Ahhh...skeptics galore! :)

Yeah Rob...you are right. Bleiker has achieved great status. In fact, I was Bleiker-bound until I was able to compare the two at Fall Selections. And I agree, the business side will be crucial. It will also take time for Eric to get the product into the market. But...it's one thing know that Eric as a crack shot - it's another to know him as an engineer embedded in the ultimate group of shooters (USAMU) all combined with being a fierce competitor heading into the London Olympic run.
The proof will be in the pudding on these actions. And for all of us across the pond, having an American-made, top-notch product will be a welcome change - quality-wise, function-wise, and money-wise. bp
