Lead fouling

Post by Shooting Kiwi »

Can anyone please recommend a way of removing lead fouling from cylinder chambers, forcing cone and barrel of a revolver, without sloshing mercury about?

I'm not a revolver expert but listening to the guys in the Club that are experts, I believe the Lewis Lead remover (think that's what it is called) is the way to go.

Just check with your Gun shop.

Shooters Choice Lead Remover or Boretech Eliminator are both excellent lead (and copper removers).

Ensure you clean your bronze jag and brushes afterwards, they are very good at removing copper from anything brass !

Let's get quick and dirty here.

Get a copper (not steel) scouring pad at the market. Snip off some and wrap the strands around a tired bore brush. It rips the lead right out.

Even easier: fire a couple of jacketed rounds when you're finished shooting.
