Grade Break

Post by Scott. »

Hi,

My daughter shoots in both Junior and Womens air competitions.

If she were to shoot 365 in junior, does that mean she has had a grade break into A grade in womens air?

Or does the break need to have been shot in that type of competition?

The rulebook is your friend! Hopefully it is online at the website of the particular governing body in the discipline your daughter is shooting. In other words if she is in USA Shooting matches, look at their website. IIRC from NRA rules, the ratings are by gun only (such as "Intl Air Rifle") and not different by gender or age. PL

To add one more salient point - the ratings are based on a cumulative average over a set period of time (again depends on the governing bodies' rules). So just firing ONE match over the cutoff may not make the rating jump up. That really depends on the math. PL
