Can the walther Cpm1 be converted to use with air rather than CO2?
If so how?

AFAIK, no. Although there was a Morini air kit for the CP3 / CPM Atlanta, may be that the frame is the same as on the CPM1.

Morini air kit are pretty expensive: for FWB C20/C25 it costs about 450Euros and there is no reason that it would be cheaper for Walther.
