So im getting a new grip made for my new morini. As i dont love the perceived muzzle flip i have decided to do 2 things, try a new comp and making the grip about 15mm higher. instead of having the wood peice between the top of my hand Il attach a piece of aluminum to the top of the grip and move the whole grip up. got half the inletting done.

Interesting. Please post a pic of the upper part of the grip mount afterwards, I'm interested in where you're putting that screw. I'd try a SAM M10 comp, that's a good piece of equipment, and fits just like that. Another improvement would be cutting holes à la LP10 into the barrel, friend of mine got that - allegedly it works...

Are we talking about a Morini FREE pistol or AIR pistol here? When you talk about the SAM comp are you referring to an FP10?

Muffo, If this is an 84E I would be very interested in how you are making the grips. I tried to make grips by casting them. I had moderate results. They ARE lightweight.

Now if I look at the pic, there is no way this is a CM84E. Don't know how you come up with that. And eliminating muzzle flip on a FP is pretty much impossible, so why try. So, no, I'm talking about the M10 comp, not the FP10 (which is a Hammerli, btw, at least in name). Besides, the 84E has a single screw upwards through the grip, so going higher is no problem at all; on the 162 it is.

The screw that used to go through the top of the grip will now go through where the web of the hand sits. could you provide some more info on the barrel porting. I have thought about whether it would be worth getting it done

He has three holes about 3/4 out front on the barrel, in the same area as the LP10, about 1,5 - 2mm diameter. They were drilled by his gunsmith, and apparently there is no problem at all with the precision, but I don't know about the details of how it was done. He says that the holes bring more than the comp, but he's using the HWC comp, not the SAM (which, IMHO, is probably the most effective comp around - put a sheet of paper over it and shoot one - q.e.d.).

Ok so the grip is about 85 percent complete. still havent wuiet got the circuit bord to locate without a heap of trouble and then gotta do some more adjustements after i shoot i a bit. Got state championships in 2 hours. Iv also added a blowout compensator and an adjustable trigger. It is a million times nicer to shoot now with absalutly no muzzle flip.

Your grip look great, beautifull job. But I have two questions:
- does it fit into the box ?
- is it legal, i.e. doesn't it go too far back on the wrist ?

It fits into the box it only looks deep because I have to have that section at the bottom for the circuit bord to fit the section at the bottom is about how far the grip has been raised. not quiet that much but nearly. the palm rest is fine its actually slightly less than on my old feinwerk as i couldnt fit it in the box with the maximum amount i could have governed by my hand. I just had it passed at states so its all fine. pity my shooting wasnt first off i ran out of air as i dont have any cylindar gauges yet and i only have one cylindar working, then my target winder broke and while fixing it i forgot to load a pellet so i got a miss, so i failed to finish as i packed my gun away after that

My Morini 162ei as two ported barrel and it does make a difference in felt recoil. In group testing, the group marginally opened up, but nothing that I would worry about. It was so little that it could have been how well the pistol had been secured to the different rest.

I have tried one of the aftermarket comps for it, the "Swedish comp", and it worked well, but not enough for me to spend the money.

I have now gone to shooting an MG1e, and enjoy it. It may have simply been time for a change.

Beutiful and well executed grip!! I can't recall, but is there a rule about the center of the bore being on top of the hand? I can't tell from the pictures and I am not sure of the rule.
Really looks like a fine upgrade for your Morini. Bummer about the "lost" pellet. Distractions really take their toll.

That's only for 25m pistols.
