I've read through some older posts regarding the MG5E, and it seems there were some issues about the trigger. But, those posts have been out there a while, so I'm wondering if anyone has made a recent close and careful comparison between the 84E and the 5E.

RE: MG5
I am still waiting to get my MG5, but the MG5E that I tried had a nice electronic trigger. I still prefer mechanical triggers over the electronic ones in general. I know someone bought the MG5E right after I put my order in for a MG5, so maybe they can report how they like it. You can also convert these pistols from mechanical to electronic triggers with a conversion kit.
Electronic vs. Mechanical
Find anything out about the electronic vs. mechanical comparison. I am in the marker for a world class free pistol and I am trying to decide. If you are in the denver area I would love to invite to my gun club to try out. (Cherry Creek Gun Club). If you know anyone that is l;ooking to upgrade to this years models and has a nice older free pistol I would sure love to make an offer. thesaint11@msn.com
CM-84 versus MG5
I appreciate the offer, but I am in Dallas. I will hopefully have my MG5 this week or next. I prefer mechanical triggers, but with the MG5 or 5E you can apparently buy a conversion kit to change it from mechanical to electronic if you change your mind. The electronic trigger seemed extremely good when I tried it a few weeks ago. I loved the balance and the light weight of the free pistol. I also tried one of the new Hammerli's FP-60?, and in my opinion, it was not as good with when compared to the Mg5 in any respect as far as the trigger, balance, overall weight, or grip. I may be wrong on this, but the Hammerli felt like it had a plastic arming lever (for the trigger) and the trigger itself was just a steel post and did not even have a trigger shoe. Just my 2 cents.
I like the TOZ I have, but it is very heavy compared to the MG5 and I do not like the trigger as much as my CM-80 or the MG5. I did however shoot a fairly decent score for me with the TOZ this last weekend, so I know it is a really good free pistol.
So I have high hopes for my MG5 when it gets here and I look forward to shooting it.
