Are you sure it's the cylinders and not the connecting O-ring ? Do the cylinders 'leak' air when not connected to the gun ?

yes it is cylinders not the connecting O rings..
my O ring is new.
I checked the cylinder just after refillnng.
I can feel the air bubles come out when I keep the cylinder to my cheek.

If it is the cylinder Scott can possibly repair the cylinder if it is the internal seal that is failing. I would check the O ring on the pistol closely one more time before sending it back. If you have reversed the turn while screwing the cylinder on or off on the pistol it will cut the O ring.

Both your cylinders are leaking? it's strange that both would leak at the same time.

Drain them fully make sure there's nothing in connection. I'd do this a couple of times to ensure that there was nothing contaminating the cylinder seal. One of mine leaked (would slowly go down over a few day while off the pistol). I cleaned it out emptied it and filed it a couple of times and it's been good for 5 years. I suspect that there was something on the seal surface.

Definatly sounds like thew cylinders, actualy the valves.

Cylinders are not normaly repaired by any one but traind professionals, as a qualified diving tank inspector - "dont go there" if there is any waranty use that else - replace them. The face you have more that one makes me think of a batch problem? but more likely something environmental.

Good idea Richard. I would refill with the SCBA tank valve fully open to try to blow any debris off the cylinder valve. No need to fill all the way to 200 bar.

That's exactly what I did, just gave it a couple short burst. Then filled it and let it sit for a couple of days, and it solved my problem.

lp 10 cylinders

Post by sagara wimaladharma »

Dear Freinds,
I have one LP 1 & one LP 10. a new Silver is on the way.
my both cylinders are pretty old.
they worked well for nearly 9 years.
so would this filling & burst process help me... since they worked well &
old..?
any way I will try it.
since I am from Srilanka, it is difficalt to show them to a specialist.

the other thing is, it is not the connecting O ring because my other two cylinders work well with the connecting O rings of both guns.

thanks for all the comments.
