Interesting article from 1978

Amazing the vision that Mr Anderson had 30 years ago and his involvement with the National Match Air Rifle programme now must be a sign of a major new development in the shooting sport!

Unless urgent attention is paid to lowering the entry level involved in sports shooting ...the sport will face a bleak future.

Third World and so called developing countries have an even greater urgency towards solving this problem and look up to the USA and the UK in paving the way forward and thank you for that!

MMP.
South Africa.

Definitely true. For example, African participation at ISSF events - notably the so-called "Continental Championships" which have approximately 1/10 of the competitors of a German county championship - is even lower than in the USA.

PS: Our county here alone has 31 clubs with 3570 members.
