So close...

Even though Jason and Brian did not medal, they surely exceeded everyone's expectations by a ton.

I thought there for a moment that a Bronze may be on the horizon....respectable showing for both USA shooters. An evening of shooting excitement, indeed. Good luck to remaining USA shooters targeting a podium medal.

It wasn't just on the horizon - Turner was ranking 3rd on 8th finals shot!

I was also sad to see Ekimov to break down like that. He probably felt twice the responsibility since Nestruev didn't even make it to the finals.

Very nice performance by both Americans.

Luke P. Have to agree with you it's almost like a changing of the guard. All in all the shooting performances so far have been excellent.

That really wasn't too surprising seeing as Nestruev only had a World Ranking of 47 going in to the Olympics.

The great surprise is that Russia did not enter their two quota place winners, Isakov and Gontcharov, who were ranked 1 and 2. Isakov won at the Milan World Cup and Gontcharov was 3rd in Munich.

They obviously didn't select on ranking as both Isakov and Kokorev were World Ranked way higher than Nestruev in both AP60 and FP.

They have entered Isakov and Nestruev for the FP.

They must have had a pretty strict selection procedure to come up with these combinations.

OK everyone, explain this one to me. I just saw the video of the finals on the NBC site. On Pang's second shot (about 7 min, 54 seconds into the video) it looks to be shown on the electronic target on the screen as a 9.3 and he is given a shot value of a 10.3. Also, on various shots I never saw the shot value, mark on the electronic screen. I am certainly not suggestion a conspiracy theory at all (or implying one). Just wondering if it is just a communication/technology glitch or something like that. Anyone elso notice this?

The feed for the TV's are not the official monitors and there can and will be differences. If there was that much of a difference in reality the shooter would signal a malfunction. So I doubt there is anything wrong with the actual scoring.

We noticed this last night too, but all it was is the person on the video feed getting the wrong buttons pushed.

We noticed that they were quoting Dovgun's score and showing Beyerle on the photo & someone elses target.

Correct scores were being put up on the website.
