I know they have a history of going through seals faster than anyone could imagine.
1. Has it been sorted out?
2. Is there a world's foremost expert who can get one running and not need almost immediate service?
3. If 1 and 2 are YES, what's a fair price for one?
4. Or is it a dog to be avoided at any price?

I have been looking for a decent air rifle for a little while. I have seen a couple of the Hammerli 450's for sale. There is one for sale on Gunbroker.com now, and I suppose that is what inspired this question. When I googled "Hammerli 450" I saw a website, I believe from the UK that pretty much made me want to stay away from that model. Apparently they require a replacement of parts and one has to pay to have that done, and there are reports of the 450 breaking down again and needing a rework. They are a very good looking air rifle, though.
