Free Pistol in Austin Area

Hi All,
Just moved to Austin, TX. Still quite new to free pistol, but would like to know if there are any other persons, ranges, competitions in this area? I have found out about the Austin Rifle Club, but it seems they only have conventional pistol matches. Thanks for the help, Dan

UT-Austin used to hold a monthly match at their range in the ROTC building. You might be able to find the contact info somewhere on their website. I don't think I've got the contact info anymore.

Texas-A&M also used to hold occasional matches at its ROTC range.

Dan, the UT NROTC matches have been stopped by the UT legal types last year. However there is a match this weekend in Rosenburg, near Houston. Down load the flyer at USAShooting.org. We have quarterly PTO,s in Dallas, next one is Sept. 6. we shoot air ,free,sport, centerfire & standard. The match in Rosenburg shoots all the above plus rapid. There is a Free Pistol match on the 3rd Sunday of odd months at 2:00pm this year at the Halton City Rifle and Pistol Club (Just west of Fort Worth). There will be one on the 20th of this month and the 21st of September. They are shot at 50 meters.
