I bought the felt pellets for my airpistol before I learned that they really do not need to be cleaned. I thought, what the heck, I'm gonnna shoot one and see how accurate it is. I figured it wouldn't go 10 meters, so I walked up to within 10 feet fo the bullet trap. I have cardboard over my bullet trap to keep the dust and fragments contained. I just replaced one with a "bandit" sign--the kind one sees along the road advertising all sorts of things. This one has an almost plastic coating on it and is corrugated.
I aimed for an undamaged area and let one fly. It bounced right back and hit me just above my lip on the left. It only lost about three inches of elevation in the ten feet to, recoil off the target, and ten feet back to me.
How did I live to be 54?

Remaining anonymous, my relates to the natural affinity between a mouse plague and an air pistol.

This big white hunter went after a mouse in the kitchen:
prone position
kitchens are full of hard right angled surfaces
missed mouse
riccochet hit self
rubbed forehead (yes - was wearing glasses)
adjusted sights from area aim to POI for next attempt

A couple of months ago I was thinking about trying one of those felt pellets to clean my AP40. Not that it really needed it, I was just curious. And to make as little sound as possible (this was late and I didn't want to wake up a neighbour) I pressed the pistol slightly against the sofa.

for me, its more of others hitting me.

i recall myself shooting beside this beginning in shooting. he was like missing over half his shots. his best attempts were his clipping of the edge of the card.

so, halfway through my training session, i felt something hitting my chest, right smack on the area around the heart. then i turn to see his sheepish face smiling at me...

From then on, i have this philoshophy in shooting : shoot beside newbies at your own risk.

Gotta keep a close eye on juniors and cleaning pellets . . . "Don't Ask Me How I Know!"

(the good news is that at any appreciable distance the pellets slow down rapidly and generally don't fly very straight. At least *most* kids are smart enough to wear eye protection when "duelling!"
