reshooting of score card

Post by donthc »

This is a first time i heard of this happening in a competition(interschool level).

my teammate was shooting beside this amateur in the competition. the amateur was shooting all over the white, and suddenly, in the middle of the match, he totally missed the card, and his pellet ricochet off the wall, hitting my teammate right smack on the forehead. just as my teammate was firing off his shot.

is it possible for my teammate to request for a reshoot of the card in the case? And will the amatuer shooter get a warning?

i remember only that in the event of a loud noise (or something like that), distracting a shooter when he is firing off, then can he request for a reshoot. In this case, he was actually struck by a projectile while aiming/ firing off, is he eligible for a reshoot?

What rules are you shooting under.

That would certainly class as a disturbance under ISSF rules but would have needed to be claimed at the time. If he continued to shoot then he would not be allowed to claim a disturbance.

Other sets of rules may have different conclusions.
