Five-shot suitable for other disciplines?

As someone returning to the sport after a very long absence I have a question. Can the five-shot air pistols designed for the international timed fire competitions be used as single shooters in other disciplines. And how would they compare. I am thinking specifically of the Steyr repeater.

The Steyr LP50 is, IMHO, the best of the 5 shot air pistols.

Unfortunately, no matter how well the trigger is adjusted it will not be a match for the trigger on one of the top end single shots. Having said that, in the right hands the LP50 is perfectly capable of 560+ scores. Remember though that you will find it easier to shoot the single shot matches if you have a single shot magazine. Loading more than one pellet is not allowed.

I own an LP10 and an LP50 , some of my best groups ever were with the LP50 FWIW . The single fire mag is a must if you want to shoot the standard event . A dry fire mag is nice to have .In short , a very nice piece of kit , and fun to shoot .Highly recommended . Cant comment on other repeaters , FWB has revised their repeater , and it now comes with single round mags . Maybe worth a look ?

Thank you both for the information.
