Hello!
I Would like to know if is there any problem to use a good quality brass brush with good solvent to clean the 22 barrel of a match rifle such as Anschutz or Walther rifles, any time I want.
Some people told that it is harmfull for the barrel and one should clean the bore between 1000 rounds fired or more.
What is the best "cleanning method" to keep the barrels ready for tight groups?

As the previous poster said you will get numerous different answers / opinions. I would find out what the manufacturer suggests and probably stick to that. I don't think it should do any harm but I also don't think you'd need as hard a cleaning method for a .22, except for very rarely. Now if you were shooting fullbore that would be different.
Rob.

My cleaning involves running one wet patch followed by 2-3 dry patches. I never brush the entire bore and have found over cleaning requires 10-20 (or more) shots to get the barrel settled down and grouping again. I will brush the chamber/leade area if my groups start loosening up. 1 wet patch, 10 short strokes, followed by a wet and 2-3 dry. I know guys that never clean and their guns shoot great, some clean after every match, I clean at the end of the day. I guess your gun will tell you when to clean it, but mine require 1-2 fouling shots after cleaning.

Thank you all for the answers.
I am from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I won the Bronze Medal in Air Rifle in the 2003 Panamerican Games in Santo Domingo.
Here we do not have too much structure to train an develop de 50m shooting but, as "shooting-fanatics" we keep our 22's firing once in a while.
Back to this topic, its intereting the case the barrel needs some shots to get ready for tight groups after a big cleaning. I observed that already.
Sometimes we get a very bad/old ammo with a hard or even turned into powder bullet grease who makes the prone shooting an adventure to unknown...
