felt pellets

I got me an Anschutz 9003 air rifle. In the operation manual I read that Anschutz does not recommend "especially no felt pellets" (the kind that are shot through) for cleaning the barrel.
Does anyone know the reason for this recommendation?

Maybe not enough back pressure (resistance)? I've heard advice to use at least two felt pellets at a time. Usually, though, I like the pull thru cleaning better - easier to look at the dirt that's coming out of the barrel. (which usually isn't much!)

Is there any issue with insufficient resistance with a PCP?
This is an issue for springers as the resistance a pellet provides keeps the piston from slamming against the front of the chamber, but I wouldn't think there would be any harm in firing a compressed air powerplant without a pellet being fired (although this is what dry firing is for).
Felt pellets do leave a little fiber around the front of the chamber sometimes, but I doubt this causes any harm.
The manual for my FWB 700 recommends using felt pellets to clean the barrel. There is no indication that more than one should be used at a time. (well, it actually states that one should keep firing felt pellets through until one comes through completely clean.)

Actually it is the fibres left that causes problems. These can get into the air port and cause failures. If you must use felt pellets just be very careful not to trap any loose fibres would be my advice.
