Since finding a 952 is more difficult than expected, my thought is to find a 52-2 and upgrade to a Bar-Sto barrel, new rear sights and some trigger work.

Any suggestions on gunsmiths with 52 experience.

Thanks.

If you are in the United States, there are several 952s on Gunbroker.com and Gunsamerica.com.

That being said, the reports I've read on the bullseye fora are saying that the 952s need full-house 9mm loads for accuracy. I'd get a M52-2.

I have seen the 952-2 that are available. I do not care for the stainless version. Looking for a first model in blue, would appreciate any leads.

The 52-2 is very nice. A new barrel, different rear sight and custom grips might be the ticket. Know of any gunsmiths that are good with 52-2s?

I have a first model , along with my brother. They are 80 digits apart, 50814 and 50894, not for sale though.

Besides the grips which I can understand, why do you want to change the barrel and sights?

Sight picture with the factory sight could use some improvement. Barrel is a "just because" change. Grips are also on the list.

I have an early 952 (blue) and I must comment. The rear sight is a wilson
and every bit the equil of Bo-Mar, AS FOR THE BARREL it is a work of art
cut rifleing and very precise. My 952 will shoot 10 shot groups at 2" at 50 yards, off bags, with good ammunition. ( Hornady 124 flat point ) IMHO you would be hard pressed to equil that with a Bar-Sto.

And if I could find a first model 952, I would not be considering buying a 52-2, new barrel, sights and grip.

Any leads on a first model 952 would be appreciated.
