What is international centerfire?
Having read several posts from competitors shooting a Model 14 in this event, I have to admit I have not familiar with Int'l CF. I am familiar with Free Pistol, Standard Pistol, and NRA BE matches but not Int'l CF. Where can I learn more about this event, requirments, course of fire, etc.,
More important, can someone tell if this match is offered in Northern California?
TIA,
Steve

Steve,

Where are you in Northern California?

CF matches are pretty rare in this area, but usually there is one each year at Chabot, east of Oakland.

Fred,
I'm in SF. I've shot outdoor FP and SP at Chabot and indoor FP and SP in Sacramento but have not seen Int'l CF around here. I like FP/SP but Int'l CF looks to be a great sport too. If there aren't any events around here, maybe we can start it up here.

Steve,

If you have shot at Chabot, you should be on David Gee's email/mailing list. He has not yet scheduled the 2006 matches. Each of the last couple of years he has scaled back the number of matches - only 4 last year. If you lobby him about CF, maybe you can get him to schedule a CF match. I hope that works, because I enjoy them also. I just sent him some info about RF, which I would like to see more of as well.

Fred,
I am on David's email list. I will ask him about expanding his offerings and hosting a Centerfire Match this year. Hopefully, he will consider it and give it a try. I do enjoy the FP and SP matches at Chabot and would like to see them as regularly scheduled events. but that would require more planning, organization, and probably more help for David.
