Thanks for seeing this. Makes it all the more real and cool to see it on the ISSF site.

USAS will bid for a Rifle/Pistol World Cup for 2007 in Kerrville.

Humm, WC in China, cool. Except it takes forever to fly there :-/

Does anyone have photos of the Guangzhou site? Or perhaps a Google maps satellite overhead view of the location? That'd be real interesting. I found the Ft Benning site here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=columbus, ... &t=k&hl=en

Google maps is so awesome, you can clearly see the 25m range on the left, and then the 50 m and AP range to the right.

I think you'll find that for the Chinese it takes forever to fly to the US <g>

Yeah, except they have time and money! Where as for us... most of us have neither. So there, they should come over here.

And some of them even have permission to travel to approved locations.

Travel, time, money, permission,........

Better worry about your own score instead of dissing others.

Hi Kalish.

I'm sorry, but I can't see where the "dissing" is occuring. I know Trinity: she was born in China, and she is familiar with the amount of time it takes to fly to China as she travels there often to visit family.

As she often speaks with the athletes and coaches of Chinese team at various world cups, she knows how well they are funded and the privileged circumstances under which they train and compete.

So, other than statements of fact made, can you you point out the apparent disrespect?

Best regards.

Chinese team

It is no screte that the Chinese team is well supportedd by the government, but within rules and regulations.
I gave up competetion years ago, here in U. S., due to the realities. There are many Olympic wannabes just like me, some continued enjoying the sport but some kept whinning and blames the system. To me, reading about the Chinese team is just like watching Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods - great fun and admirations.
Don't be jealous about the glories they earned, they all paid a big price for it. Anyone knows about what happened with Luna Tao in 2004 and that Yi-Fu Wong was initially not on their 2004 Olympic team?
The Chinese team will be more than glad to provide "Trinity" with same level of money/time if she resumes Chinese citizenship and if she can prove herself in shooting. I doubt her willingness to go that far.
I don't think any Chinese national team members need "permission to approved locations" for traveling. The iron/bamboo curtain is long gone.
To whoever makes it to Guangzhou, 2006: Congratulations and enjoy your trip. Yes, they have toilets you can sit on, taxi cabs, ATM, MacDonalds, Diet Caffeine Free Pepsi; and, no, you don't have to take a boat to get there.
