Recently I had an exchange of emails with Eley in the UK about ammo quality and rimthickness.
Part of their answer was as follows:

"The rifle itself could be old or have had many rounds through it...
-as a rule of thumb a rifle should be good for 50,000 - 60,000
-after this number of rounds wear can be a problem

It depends on the ammo you shoot trough it. If you use f.e. Magnum .22 ammo (copper heads) it will lose accuracy with almost every shot. If not, you use f.e. RWS R50/R100 (the higher quality) you can shot (per my opinion) easily 200.000 without any noticeable accuracy decrease.
A major part that affects you accuracy is cleaning, never forget that part of shooting!

Good luck!
