Mens Rapid Fire Pistol: The First Shot.

Post by PETE S »

My impression is the key to success is to get the first shoot off as a ten and transition to the second target. I appreciate Bob Riegl’s post describing that this is his key training element.

I have also read several descriptions of how to pick up the front sight. The first technique was to keep the eye on the target and bring the pistol up to the eye. Another was to focus the eyes attention below the target, seeing the target face or the lights change with ones peripheral vision. The advantage being that one picks up the sight sooner.

Also, how does the shooter take the first shot? Do you raise and stop with sights aligned? Is there some continuous, fluid motion?
