hi everyone.
i have a problem, i'm getting my daughter a new rifle but i'm going to be buying the stock seperately to the action and barrel. the stock i'm getting will be a brand new anschultz 1912 and the barrel will be an eight-year-old anschultz 1913 because we know it shoots well and she likes the heaviness of the rifle she has now. will it fit into the stock?

It should fit no problem. The thing to watch out about is the weight. The rifle will need to weigh in at 6.5kg (14.33lb) or less to be legal as a sport rifle.

Actually, if he was Googling on Anschultz to find an answer, it could very well matter. I've seen a number of posts on various bulletin boards where the poster states that no information can be found on (fill in misspelled word). Sell it correctly and Bingo! Hundreds of hits.

First off, the question wasn't posted to a search engine -- it was directed to the people on this board...who could be expected to make the jump from Anschultz to Anschutz/Anschuetz/Anschütz/Whatever. And -- I just Googled 'anschultz firearms' and got directed to the proper site anyway.

I'm certain that everyone reading the post understood the question. (Although I guess it's possible that you couldn't?)

I notice that pdeal figured it out without problems and answered it helpfully and in line with common courtesy. Your defense of 'riflechick's' post shows only that you hadn't researched the Google response very well...

I understood fredshot's question perfectly and only thought perhaps he had come to this site because he couldn't find the information elswhere. Google was only an example, albeit a poor one, given Google's marvelous ability to see through the misspelling fog. You cut fredshot some slack, I cut riflechick some slack.

As a a former US Army 05C (Radio Teletype Operator) and a Ham Radio Operator, I could hijack the thread on the incorrectness of that statement as well. But I won't.

To answer the original question.

A 1913 barreled action should fit just fine into a 1912 stock. I haven't weighed the stocks by themselves, but by just looking at them the 1912 stocks shouldn't be any heavier than the 1913's. If anything they are lighter.

1913 barrel in a 1912 stock should be under 6.5 kg. From memory I believe a 1912 to be about 12.5 lb, the heavy 1913 barrel weighs about 1lb more than the lieghter weight tube used on the 1912, so it should be ok.

However you might want to be careful over the balance. 1912 stocks are a little lighter, in part to balance the lighter barrel; you may find that it comes out a wee bit front heavy.
