Stock for Rem 40x

Hi all,

I’m told that someone out there, likely in Northern California (maybe Sacramento) has aluminum stock blanks that can be fitted for the old Remington 40x. I've heard that these stocks were designed for Juniors, and that they have possibly a digital lathe to turn them out. Any info on who, what, where, how much, would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for something with a pistol grip and that I can fit (9 - 10in length of pull) for a junior. I don't want to cut the original stock, because I plan on using these for a short while then auctioning them (one a year) off to buy other needed Junior gear.

p.s. What would you pay for a 1 in 144 chance for a complete Remington 40 X .22 with sights, in good or better condition? How about if it's all tax deductible through a 501 c 3 corporation?

For a chance? Like in a raffle? $5. The 40X was THE gun, for a while. but today they are more collector pieces than competitors. There were 90 competitiors at the NRA sectionals this weekend, and all the competitors were useing Anschutz and Walther, with a few Rem 540XR's thrown in, one CMP Kimber and a Mossberg 144US. I did not see one 40X or 52 Win. I wish Remington still made this gun like they use to, and put a good adjustable stock and sight sets with them. They offer the 40X through the custom shop, but the stock is awful, and you have to get your own sight set.

Try a Ross stock, they fit just about any action as they are barrel clamped. He posts on the Florida Smallbore Site a lot. Talk to Mike Ross
