results not available?
Dear Mr. "julioaprina": are the achieved results of the competitions you are listing not avilable?
More of us are interested to learn about the scores made by the MG2.
We asked you above to bring the results. We are a bit curious why you do not list the scores. (If you do not bring the scores, someone may start to wonder about the listed "victories" being fakes...).

Re: results not available?
As I already said, MG2 already won silver in World Cup: Maura Genovesi at Rio de Janeiro WC 2008. You can find this result on ISSF.tv.Brina. wrote:Dear Mr. "julioaprina": are the achieved results of the competitions you are listing not avilable?

The results are available online. Here is a link to the results that Sr. Alperi refers to:Brina. wrote:Dear Mr. "julioaprina": are the achieved results of the competitions you are listing not avilable?

Young Mr. Thibaut (competitor #911) fired a 585 in qualification and a 777.2 total after 20 round final. Looks like he got a bit nervous and dropped a few 8.xs.
Not too shabby for a college kid! We should see him at World Cups and Championships in the future.
I'm having a hard time finding the match results for Brina, Plumbo, Former MG2 besitzer, Frederic, Olav, F. Heinrich, or MG2-owner.
Actually, I think these are all psuedonyms for Cesare Morini and all of this is a well crafted ad campaign to get the name of the MG-2 out there. It is working well. Having spoken in depth to no less than 4 MG2 owners who shoot regularly (League and Match) and then having read all of the unsupported information concerning the MG-2, I am feeling strangely compelled to consider one to replace my Walther GSP. The GSP that helped me earn NRA Collegiate All American in the 1990s, A silver medal at Collegiate Nationals, Medals at State level championship matches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, and has had 1 failure in an estimated 85,000 rounds- firing pin broke in a practice and caused a failure to fully extract.
be safe,

Some people have better things to do than answer your questions IMMEDIATELY.Brina wrote:We asked you above to bring the results. We are a bit curious why you do not list the scores.
....and some may wonder, especially with your duplicated guest postings, about your true identity.Brina wrote:(If you do not bring the scores, someone may start to wonder about the listed "victories" being fakes...).

You are kind of smart, "Cricman". No doubt.
An old saying: you cannot frame everybody every time. That is for true.
Greetings from Italy.:-)
I shot my MG2 at Nationals the last 2 years and have never had a malfunction in competition. I have only had a couple in the last 5000 rounds. I can shoot it very well, sometimes, no fault of the gun. The picture w/ the five tens and a total of 98 is in the slow fire section was a good run that put me in 1st till the 20 second and then the wheels fell off the wagon in the 10 second stage and I shot 2 zeros (late shots). I still shot a 548. I like the MG2 much more than my former Pardini and is more reliable. I let John McNally shoot it one day at the range, and he REALLY liked it.

I dont know about that because if its true I dont think its helped in aus as quiet a few people have said they are going to stop importing them due to the reliability issues

As there are currently no reliability issues since the last slide/extractor/slide spring/buffer upgrade...and my MG 2 is testament to this, I would question the commercial soundness of anyone stopping the importation and sale of MG's at this point.
I know that at the first three competitions held at our club this year, there have been probably 10 malfunctions claimed...and none of them have been from any of the three MG2's.

Im not against thend i think that most of the problems they have had have been caused by the people who had them and if i shot an event using a standard pistol and had the money i would buy a rapid fire match gun. All im saying is a few people who may or may not know but compete at most major comps in the state and aus mentioned that they arent going to import them any more. At a comp i asked a guy who was purchasing, I think a walther, why not a match gun and he said because they arent going to keep importing them so parts may end up being a problem
585 pts at rapidfire is a respectable tournament score
A 585 pts rapid fire (ISSF) tournament score is impressive.Cricman wrote: Young Mr. Thibaut (competitor #911) fired a 585 in qualification and a 777.2 total after 20 round final. Looks like he got a bit nervous and dropped a few 8.xs.
Clearly, there are some sound MG2-specimens out there. In the hands of guys able to handle them well.
Not all MG2-owners are that lucky....
Hi, I have been shooting for some 29 years and have had some moderate
results. My most frustrating pistol was the FAS .32 even though I posted
a few 580's with it. I eventually gave it away. The most reliable pistol that
I have owned was the Hammerli 280, owned it from 91 until 08 never a
malfunction with any brand of ammo. best SP score posted 577 and never
a high first shot with the .32, great pistol. IN most cases it is not the car but the driver. I have owned High standard, Unique, Pardini SP, Bennelli,
FAS,Hammerli,(TOZ, MU55,IZH 35) great pistols. AP Steyr, Morini & Fwb.
They have all served me just fine except the FAS. I do believe that I acted hastily with the FAS. I believe in cleaning my pistols, after every
shoot I come home picked the thing down and clean. Twice a year I would
wash all the gunk out with with gasoline air dry and spray with WD40.
At 64 I am still having fun. I shoot AP,FP,SP & CF. pistols use are FWB P44
MU55, IZH35M and YES, the same FAS .32 it is working like a charm.
I suppose some pistols fit you well and others don't but to say that there is a worse pistol I don't think so. The same way that you prepare for a
competition mentally and so on, you have to take care of your equipment.

Prayers needed
Your prayers are needed. My mother is fighting for her life. A battle that seems she is going to lose.
I have painfully learnt a few new words: ovary, tumour, malignant growth…cancer. When the operation had finished a member of the surgery team came and spoked quite clear. About four hours and a half before, to me, my mother had one of those tumours that are common in women. Albeit it was large (6”), I wasn´t too worried. Now it was, no doubt, a cancer. They removed almost all feminine internal parts but not everything they thought was affected. They were losing her and had to close and sew quickly. “ there is not going to be a second operation”, “ chemotherapy for such an aggressive cancer would be not indicated” albeit the last word for this has to be said by the oncology service” “ they will call you soon”.
My mother and I live alone, together. My father died long ago being still young and strong. I´ve got no brothers and no sisters. Relatives are a bit distant not only physically, except my aunt. No one knows the whole truth. I´m bearing this cross all on my own.
I pray the oncology service will tell me that the information given was erroneous. I know these professionals never (almost) go wrong when they speak so clear, But still there is a hope.
I have been opening my doors to you, the brotherhood of members of Target Talk every day, the only exception has been these late weeks. Please be generous.
Yes , this is a forum about shooting and so my post could be “not adequated”. I beg you please excuse me and forgive me.
God bless you.

Brotherhood
The competitive shooters are kind of a fraternity, a brotherhood, a society.Mike M. wrote:Amen. Shooting isn't just about sport...it's about fraternity.
A society, in which we can share information.
Information about real life experiences, e.g. from actual at the range firing of competitive guns.
Info forwarded from the real life at the ranges may divert substantially from info projected towards us in advertising.
I intend to continue my contributions, which may be read, and hopefully even appreciated, by the openminded crowd, wanting to get the real facts about well contructed, and, not least, about less well constructed guns.
As this thread does.
