Jipe, is it possible that this SK and RWS ammo was easier to fed on your Hammerli because of a much reduced grease usage? I have this feeling that grease on the match ammo is applied more sparsely than on economy priced cartridges where in some instances grease is applied liberally.

Thank your for your review on the CM22M RF. As a curiosity, did you have a chance to check the balance of the CM22M versus the CM22M ALU?
I don't know if the guest with the orignal question saw the Extensive .22LR ammo test. I found it on the bottom page 8. It might be at the top of 9 by now
Yes Sir, thank you!

I'm in no doubt that most ammunition can be reasonably accurate at 25m, so my concerns are pretty much directed towards reliability. Would all those brands of ammo that were tested there have equal or less than 1 falure to feed/fire for every 5,000 rounds?

reliability of ammo is pretty gun specific and depends on the tightness of the chamber, the strength of the spring, the design of the firing pin and other factors such as what kind of sights or optical mounting system you have on the gun. For example. my opinion is that one of the reasons for the popularity of the Hammerli 208s is that it is a very reliable gun and will function with almost any reasonably good ammunition. However if you have an unmodified Knapp mount on the gun, it will occasionally catch the brass in the slide after it bounces off the mount. It isn't an ammo problem but it will cause a failure to feed the next round. Watch out for the really cheap ammo and anything high velocity. Other than that, the issue is probably going to be pretty gun specific. Isabel

It is not an question of grease: the SK and RWS enter without the need to push them: you drop them and they enter in both the Hammerli and Morini. The Eley need to be pushed but do not need a real effort. The CCI need a real effort to push them into the chamber. By the way, RWS have a lot of grease on the bullet, SK and Eley less more or less the same amount.

I tried the CM22M alu and CM22M RF also alu (no steel version when I bougth it) and prefered the RF version. The RF has also a new breech with a reduced weigth.

I didn't tried a full steel version. This steel version is very heavy and as far as I know, most pistols sold now are alu version, the importer in my country told me he never sold a steel version.

It seems that there is now a new version with a steel frame and alu top (barrel and breech are always in steel)
