My original plan was to drive up, but he has a eight to twelve week waiting period. If I can't fixing my equipment my self I will need two pistols.

I had this problem too with my kite, except it happened when I slammed down the "bolt or ears"

Try closing it more gently.

The trigger weight isn't really related, I think what's happening is you don't have enough sear engagement.

When you have your grip off, on one side of the pistol there is a black panel. Remove the bolt holding the panel on, and you can see the inner workings of the trigger mechanism.

Now you know what turning each screw does.

Cock your pistol, and in the lower right hand corner you will see the sear engagement. Unlike some other guns, the Kite is not a true two stage, so only the second stage moves the sear.

Increase the engagement very slightly. I think it's about 1/8th of a turn or less will do it.

I think the screw in the lower left controls the sear engagement.

But not till after the match tomorrow.

Thanks for all the help.
I opened up the action and adjusted the trigger.
It went very well and it helped in the last match.
The trigger weight is set at ~550grams and it feels like half of what it felt like before.
Thanks,
Vin
