Feinwerkbau seem to have ditched the old slides, not sure if they were plated or stainless.

Plating needs to be done carefully or hydrogen embrittlement can be induced - get a metallurgist to have a look.

They were plated. For some mysterious reason, FWB went to the two tone route.

You can still get the slides nickel -plated as a special order. I know, because I asked the factory.

What is explained in this article = to lower the pistol in the hand is exactly what Morini did for the CM22M RF vs the normal CM22M: they modified the frame and designed a new grip so that the pistol is about 4mm lower in the hand with as result to improve the recoil/pistol jump for rapid fire.

I suspect they realised they had a problem with the nickel plated slides and decided not to risk warranty issues.

Just a hunch really.
