If you have knocked down the first 4, and can hear the spectators urging you to hit the 5th then yes, blocking out the distractions does concentrate the mind. (I've got a long memory)

Both events have been ran at the Grand Prix in Toronto for the last 4 or so years. The falling plate is very popular with spectators both those that like shooting and those that don't. It usually draws a small crowd (unfortunately the venue can't accommodate a larger crowd).
We have a Rika unit at our club to practice on, the thing will last a lifetime.

Something that would make it even more entertaining would be to add reactive targets, maybe for the duel stage. Lot of luck getting the ISSF to go along with that, huh?

Believe me Stan, it's a LOT more fun with a cartridge gun.

I basically said it looks fun but:
1. Cost will be way high
2. Range set up will be difficult. Most airgun ranges don't have the means
3. Interest will be too low. Hardly anybody shoots air pistol in Missouri already, and the price tag will drive shooters away.
4. Focus on popularizing existing disciplines.

Robert, great photo's thanks.
One question (dumb) as I can't work out how you get the five plates to return to upright after they've been knocked down.
Something to do with the bar that runs accross the entire back?
One photo shows this bar hinged into place at the centre, so that threw me off.

That bar is hinged in 2 places. There is a string affair running to the bench and fastened to the bar, which pulls it up to reset the plates.

We had quite a bit of bounce-back before we put the sheet-metal over the shelving board. The pellet would hit the board and spring back, but when it hits the steel, it flattens out the pellet and it only comes back a few feet.
