Hey Lowey,

Sounds good, I've been meaning to get out on a Wed night I've only just started smallbore shooting and was recommend your club. You wouldn't happen to know Greg Pill???

A few photos of my Sons new Anschütz 1903. Its a factory ordered shorted barreled action to meet the requirements of the weight limit for the Canadian Sporting Rifle Class.

I also modified the standard 1903 rear stock by adding the ALU components and modifing the standard cheek rest to reduce weight and improve the look of the stock. Its just under the 4 kg max weight limit, coming in as shown at 3.985kg.

Rifle arrived last Friday, modified the stock Saturday and he competed in a 50m and 100m match Sunday. Two first place finishes. :-)

Outstanding - what a great rig.
That's one nice thing about the Canadian Sporting Rifle class .... still a good challenging shoot without that "match rifle price tag". And, it's a great way for kids/juniors to start out.

I can see your son hitting you with the "match rifle" price tag in the next couple years!! :)

My 2 1813 Super Match and Remington 40x

Remington 40x
For some reason the previous owner decided to cut the barrel of the 40x. I bought a used barrel to restore it back to the original length. Damn that rifle is heavy even with the cut down barrel. :)
A bargin for what I paid for it and it's just as acurate as my 2 1813 super matches.

My 1st Super Match (Dark Color) was bought from an old Black Rifle gun store. I didn't know what it was until I saw the Olympics and saw them shooting the almost exact same rifle. Summer 2004. I literally ran back to the store because I had sat on the shelf for 3 months and I never knew what it was. The old man let me check it out to bring it to my local range and of course used crappy ammo to test it out but I was sold after the first shot.

My second 1813 Super Match (lighter color) was bought off the used section here.
My first shot when I went to sight it in using Elley Tennex was so dead on perfect on a standard 50ft small bore target that there was still the small circle showing. an 11 !? WTH?

I put some stickers on the stock to have people stop me from shooting to ask me what the rifle was. I don't mind talking about the rifle and letting them hold it, but only after I have shot my string of 10 off hand shots is done.

A few photos of my main smallbore rifle. It began life in 1966 as 1411. My dad bought it second hand about 1975 and passed it on to me around 1977 when he traded up. I have been shooting and upgrading it pretty steadily since then and here it is in its latest incarnation

Action: Anschutz 54 trued and threaded, bolt sleved and re-fitted. bedded on a 'round to square' Anschutz adapter, updated Anschutz trigger.
Barrel: 25" 0.95" parallel tight bore Lilja
Stock: Marine plywood laminated to an aluminium core shaped from 40mm square tube, Anschutz buttplate and hardware, MEC cheekpiece mounted on a home made carrier.
Home made extension tube using a mixture of odd parts
Centra sights

It has only come togther in this form in the last few weeks but so far I am very pleased with it. Just need to learn to hold it still

I had seen the new G & E carbon on their web page a while ago but got a chance to see and handle one in person up at Camp Perry a few weeks ago. $ 5400 for the chassis alone. God was it beautiful ! They had to wipe the drool off of it after I gave it back to them. Too rich for my blood but I can still dream.

This is the rifle that was at Camp Perry. It was $4500 for the stock with buttplate. I bought it through Brenzovich.

Can I ask if the stock is made completely of carbon fibre or is there some alloy in there too?

So, the Hybrid 3000 is finally out :-)

It's good to see more people getting these rifles. They are extremely accurate rifles that are perfectly capable of winning international matches. They are also a work of art to behold. Congrats and shoot well with it. If you aren't shooting 600's with this rifle, the gun is not the reason!

You are correct. The aluminum is necessary for mounting the action and the sliding weight system under the barrel. I must say that the cheekpiece is the most impressive part of the stock. Almost infinitely adjustable.

Built this BSA MKII international in a Walther stock just to see if I could do it. The BSA Action is bedded to the side of the stock rather than through the bottom, Shoots pretty well for a gun from the 1960's
