MG-5
Would like information on the MG-5 FP made by Matchguns.Does anyone actually have one or has handled/shot this pistol?? Thanks
My dad has a MG5E, works and shoots nicely. Fantastic recoil recovery, although nobody (including Cesare) seems to know why - apparently much better than the standard MG5. Technically, a cousin of the FP10 / SAM 50 design, but appears well made. Not many of them around, though, so this is a statistic based on a sample of one...
MG5
I have handled the MG5E and decided to put a MG5 on order. Hopefully it will be here by the 1st of January. I really liked the sturdiness of the loading system/level. On my Morini CM-80 this is a weak point of the design. It looks like the CM-84 is somewhat similar in having the level attached to one side of the frame. The MG5 looks much more robust and has a mechanical trigger which is what I wanted. I saw the results of someone else who has bought one and their targets looked pretty good. I know someone else ordered one right after I did, so maybe this model will pick up in popularity. I liked the balance, grip and light weight of the MG5, so we will see when it gets here what it is like.

MG-5E Trigger
Nvalcik(Guest)-What is your impression of the MG-5E trigger?? Is it similar,in feel,to the CM-84?? Do you have any impression of the mechanical trigger-MG-5?? Did you receive your MG-5 yet??Thanks Erod
RE: MG5
My experience was that the trigger for the electronic version was better than the CM-84 in the way that it felt. I have not gotten the mechanical MG5 yet, I hope to get it this week or next week. I really do like the fact that the MG5 is convertible between the electronic trigger and the mechanical trigger if you bought the conversion kit from what I saw in the information posted on the Matchguns Website. I hope that answers your question.
RE: MG5
To Shadow's question: When I ordered my MG5 mechanical from ISS, Neil was told by Matchguns or Gehmann (if I remember this correctly) that they could make a MG5 with a 2 stage trigger but no one ever ordered one, so they made the MG5 with a single stage trigger (which is what I preferred). My guess is that one probably could still be ordered with a 2 stage trigger if someone wanted it.
