New Anschutz ALU stock?

Post by Jason »

Does anyone know anything about this Anschutz stock? It was displayed in the Anschutz booth at the German championships this past summer.

It looks like it's machined and not forged -- which likely means they'll charge another $300-400 for it, of course.

I did a search but couldn't another thread about it, so sorry if this is a repeat.

Can somebody explain why a wood stock 2013 is no longer available?

I like that it has a bigger fore end. Looks heavy though.

Well if it is fully machined in which it might be, this might be a good buy. Ans has been behind on there aluminum stocks in my opinion because they were all cast aluminum. Even FWB has machined aluminum stocks. So i think this stock if machined will be at least 2000 and higher. They are going to have to try to compete with the other companies out there that do fully machined stocks like gemini and mec.

I think the biggest reason for no more wood stocks is the amount of labor to produce good ones. Their latest models using the modern hardware were pretty poor. The older ones i suspect had too many parts to be made "affordably"
