Extremely Fast Lock Time

I have read that the TOZ 35 is popular due to it's "fast lock time". I read this about the Anschutz 54 action as well. My question is: "Is lock time a measurable statistic or is it more of a perceived feeling"?

As far as I can tell if I fire a shot corectly lock time doesn't seem to matter. If I fire a shot incorectly lock time has nothing to do with how far out the bullet hole appears in the target. The 45 Colt automatic seems to have the slowest lock time of any firearm and the two comments still apply. The anshutz 54 seems to be one of the fastest and the two comments still seem to apply. Proper technique will over come most if not all of the problems with lock time.if there really are any. Good Shooting Bill Horton

While "faster lock time" is not necessarily a *bad* thing*, the consistency of the lock time has a much greater impact on shooting accurately.

It's all about how a well-developed shot process really works.

I know we had a lot of discussion on this a few months ago.

*There are arguments on both sides- and we have to clarify the mechanical vs. human sides of it as well.
