GSP conversion to GSP Expert

Post by ldevedia »

I own a Walther GSP .22 and a Walther GSP .32 with which I compete regularly in Standard and Center Fire. I wonder whether anybody knows if it is feasible to convert them to the more modern "GSP Target" version, and if this is the case, what parts should I have to purchase? I would pretiate any orientation on this subject.

It depends of the version of the GSP you have because Walther made several evolutions of the GSP before the GSP expert came out.

It might happen that very little will remain of your original GSP (pieces who have changed over time: grip, sights, trigger assembly, breech assembly, muzzle piece... not sure of the barrel) !

If they are later models you need new top units as all the changes are in the top unit. If you just wanted to add the recoil damper system you'd need someone with some gunsmithing skills as the barrel is pinned differently than the older barrels.

GSP conversion to GSP Expert

Thank you to all of you that answered my question. It seems that I better stay with my old GSP's or get a new Expert rather than trying to make the conversion.
