Walther Pistol Air Cylinder Warning

Post by David Levene »

Walther have nor issued an URGENT SAFETY WARNING for air pistol cylinders manufactured between June 2000 and June 2001.

Affected cylinders (see the linked page) should be depressurised and not used again.

How nice of them to offer to sell you a replacement (at a reduced price). Nice to see a manufacturer standing by his product.

Do they really think that customers would pay to replace the cylinders due to a manufacturing problem ? When this happened to Anschutz rifle cylinders, replacement was of course for free.

I have never been very confident in Walther customer support.

To be fair David, in the UK at least, if you send it to John Churchley the Walther agent it will be replaced free of charge.

Very true, and it doesn't suprise me. I don't know if the factory are supporting him on this or whether it is just something he has decided needs doing.
