Another thread suggested that Baikal quit making magazines for the IZH35. The IZH35 seems to be in short supply in Australia, and not available in the US. Similarly, the IZH-46 seems to be on perpetual back-order, and their PCP AP seems to have fallen into a black hole.
Has IZH quit making these products? Even though their management may be a relic of Soviet economic "management", you would think that if they've got a popular product they would keep production chugging along. They're still apparently making other sporting guns. Has anyone ever gotten a definitive answer on what's happening with the IZH35?
What HAS happened to Baikal products?

Baikal
There are always lots of rumours.
Most probably target pistols just aren't profitable enough or in high enough volumes for a large company to be interested.
Walther no longer seems to be interested for example.
It was different in the days of a command economy.

Re: Baikal

Not that I am a Walther fan, but Walther introduced recently new target products: LP300XT, several air rifles, there seems to be some upgrades on the 2008 SSP...
