Mine range companion too have a abnormal consume of the frame around bolt leverage zone. Became rough and hard. Replaced free (another pistol) from Morini. The pistol was 2 or 3 years old.

162EI Frame

Here is a reply from Morini, John

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email. Yes, we had problem with the material, so some frames brake.
We change it on warranty. Please contact Scott Pilkington and they should send us the frame. We will exchange and send him back.
Let us know if we have to do the same S/N or we can use another one. In the second case, the waiting time is less then in the first case.

Thank you and best regards
Morini Competition Arm SA

Subject: Morini 162EI Short

Hi, I have a Morini 162 Short AP. I sent it to Pilkington for repair for low velocity and low number of shots per cylinder of air.

One of the things they found is that the frame has cracked, The AP is 7 years old but has had very little use, maybe 3000 pellets.

I have 2 questions, What would cause the frame to crack and is there anything that I should or should not do so that I can prevent this from happening again?

Lastly Buck at Pilkington is going to send you an email because he does not have a frame in stock as he just recently used his spare frame.

How long before he will receive a new frame, he did say a new frame may already be on the way to his shop.

Thank You, John Kumiega
