Hi all,
I'd like to know if there is any significant difference between 9003 Premium and 9003 Premium S2.
The convertion from non S2 to S2 model costs about 550 euros. Does it worth to pay for the convertion?
Thanks

Anshutz Premium S2
Hi
First of all check out the Anschutz Web site where the 'alleged' advantages of the S2 are explained.
My own take on this modification is; why was it necessary in the first place, did they not get it right first time?
The Premium uses the Steyr stabilizer which is about the most effective on the market. I feel the Premium has become too 'dead' when firing as i do like to feel a 'tiny' kick on firing like FWB, Tesro and earlier model Walther LG-300 gave you.
The older model Anshutz 8002 is still winning major competitions round the world and that doesn't even have a stabilizer or any of these modifications you see on the S2.
I guess most will not aggree with me, but i feel Anschutz are moving in the wrong direction as all they are doing is alienating the rifle from the shooter. There is no feed back on firing. FWB, are aware of this phenomena and refuse to make their air rifles less reactive.
I don't think its worth the money unless you are a 'must have' shooter.

- the 8002 was actually introduced on the market after the 9003 and is a such a "newer" model than the 9003.
- Now this is not really the case, the 8002 is a cheaper version of the 9003. It shares most of the technology with the 9003 but is less equiped: the stabilizer is not mounted, the several additional weigths are not provided with the rifle. There is also an S2 version of the 8002.
- The 8002 is not factory equiped with the Steyr stabilizer but the rifle is designed to be equiped with the stabilizer and it can be separately bought and installed by the owner himself (look at the website of Anschutz in the download section there is the user manual that explains how to mount the stabilizer).
- all manufacturers are going in the same direction, i.e. using a stabilizer, only some technologies are better than other: Steyr has it on the LG110 that did very good results. Anschutz adopted it on the 9003 and 8002. Walther made the new XT version with improved stabilizer. Same for FWB for the 700 serie that has an improved version compared to the 70 serie, Tesro has also a stabilizer.
Anschutz 9003 Premium S2
Hi all
Sorry for the mis information, The original question was, is the S2 mod worth 500 + Euros? I don't think it is.

Re: Anschutz 9003 Premium S2
I agree totally: unless you are a world class shooter, the difference doesn't justify a price that is about 25% of the price of the rifle.peepsight wrote:Hi all
