Short cylinder on LP10

Post by pauln »

Does anybody know how much weight is saved using the short cylinder on the LP10?

Thanks.

I have weighted a filled normal cylinder (new model with with manometer) at 198g. I weighted the short cylinder also filled, also with manometer (I do not think that there is a short cylinder witjout manometer) at 152g.

It will of course slightly move the center of weight of the pistol to the rear.

For information, the full size cylinder old style without manometer weigth about 10g less. If you are interested, I have a couple for sale with the external screw in Steyr manometer.

Now, if you are looking for an LP10 with big weight saving, you should look at the Anschutz LP@ light: its about 220g less, i.e. 780g instead of 998g.

Thanks for the reply and excellent advice.

I also got a reply from Steyr, who by the way are really good at answering queries, normally reply the same or the next day!!
There approximate weights of 200,& 160 are very close to yours.

Regards,
Paul

May be one more hint: if you ever buy one cylinder, take the Anschutz one, they are 100%$ compatible but the Anschutz has a much more accurate/readable manometer.

Anschutz is for the moment selling the red cylinders for a sale price: https://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.p ... &sprache=0 57Euros for a full size, 45Euros for a short one.

and LP2 ?

Does this one fit an LP2 as well? I assume that it is identical to the LP10 fitting, but confirmation would be good! :)

cheers
