Recall air cylinders

Post by Company Anschutz »

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The J. G. ANSCHÜTZ GmbH & Co. KG would like to inform that during product observation and quality control measures ANSCHÜTZ have found out that a certain production lot - only until year of manufacture December 2005 - may show material defects at the compressed air cylinders of target air rifles which may lead to a sudden failure of the aluminium air cylinder. Therefore ANSCHÜTZ would ask to send back the concerned air cylinders which will be sent for a check to the manufacturer. Detailed information have already been published in the internet:

http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/english. ... opicID=238

We would ask you to make available this information to your readers.

Many thanks for your efforts and

Best regards

Elke Mühsam

Is this for cylinders manufactured before or after December 2005?

Looks like the recall is for all cylinders manufactured until (i.e., before the end of) December 2005. If you click the link, they give the serial numbers of the affected units, which should resolve any possible doubt whether yours is one of them.

That's how I read it initially, but then I looked at my cylinders. They were manufactured in 2003 and do not have any serial numbers printed as shown on the website. That led me to believe that maybe they meant after December 2005.

If in doubt, contact your dealer for advice.

The issue is with Cylinders manufacturered BEFORE Dec 2005.
The recall sheet specifically notes this in the third paragraph.

ALSO ONLY those within the noted serial numbers ... this is also in the recall sheet you should download from the anschutz site as noted above.

Elke,
Am I correct in assuming that if my cylinder has a manufacture date before Dec, 05, but has no seriall number engraved on it, it is not involved in the recall?
